During overnight tornadic storms, I try to stay awake and listen for the sirens which alert residents to move to their shelters. Those stormy nights are exhausting, the next day is usually non-productive. Yesterday was one of those non-productive days for me.
Although I perform my daily chores by making breakfast, cleaning the kitchen, making lunch, and cooking dinner, the rest of the time is spent in a daze.
When must-dos are completed, I am ready for a much-needed nap. Crawling into bed, I flipped through the cable guide and found several subscription channels were offering their service free for a few days. Scrolling through nearly two thousand movies, I chose one based upon the main actors – Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. The name of the movie was Mommy!
This was the absolute, without a doubt, the worst movie EVER! I kept watching it though, hoping for a redeeming moment, but it never came. What a waste of two hours of my life!
I understand that some writers delve into deep symbolism with the intent of causing the audience to expand their thinking and glean a deep message from the story. But this story was so far out, the only thing I could think was, “What the f@ck did I just watch?” I was so angry at myself for wasting all that time.

excellent review of this p.o.s.
This morning, I was curious what others thought about the movie, so I Googled it. Again, I found myself wasting even more time on this senseless movie.
So, what am I doing now? Unbelievably, wasting even more time, writing about it. Maybe there was a hidden message in the content of the movie after all. Maybe its only purpose was to drive viewers to insanity!
Not me. Not this writer. Well-rested, mind thinking logically, I will take advantage of this day and write, write, write!

Okay. I get it now, after your explanation, I guess maybe I’ll watch it again – WITHOUT tornado warnings. Maybe I was just in a really grumpy mood. 🙂

Really- i loved it sue.
me and my missus went to see it and she was not impressed. But i clicked with the idea straight away and thought YEH- she’s his muse, giving him all she can to get a story written. When he faltered, she gave him a new character, and the ideas just kept coming. Then the critics came and ripped her ideas apart, until she gives him everything.
haven’t been back to watch it again, some of the scenes were brutal, but I got the idea right from the start.
Or at least – the way my muse was telling the story.😳
