My Next Goal

While working on short stories, I took a little break to expand my presence into the poetry world. Although I prefer writing stories, I loved reading and writing poetry as a young girl and throughout my younger days.

My late husband and I would sit on the floor of the living room, light candles, put easy-listening music on the stereo and we would read from my favorite poetry books.

I still enjoy the challenge of writing in the rhythm of iambic pentameter. Call me old-fashioned, I will not be writing free-form poetry any time soon.

Several of my author friends have found a home for their poems at Spillwords. Two of those friends have been chosen as Author of the Month. Yes. That is my next goal. And, I’m off to a pretty good start.

My poem, Beyond a Dream, is currently available for votes to help me reach my goal of Author of the Month.

Another of my poems will be published within the next week or so. I cannot divulge more information at this time.

“He who draws noble delights from sentiments of poetry is a true poet, though he has never written a line in all his life.” — George Sand

    1. Oh, yes. I still have those poetry books. The covers have wine stains on them. I cherish them! Yellow roses were my favorite flower. He always remembered that.
