The lack of content here since February 26th is not indicative that I have abandoned my little blog, nor it is evidence that I have not been writing. To the contrary, I have been quite busy with real life and grabbing moments here and there to write. Here is what I’ve been up to lately…
March 8, 2020:
“Through the Darkness” is a surrealistic story I wrote based upon a dream. My dream journals provide material for many stories. You can read this weird story at Spillwords Press.
April 15, 2020:
My poem, “A Poet’s Prayer” was published by Spillwords Press.
May 3, 2020:
Spillwords Press published my tongue-in-cheek story, “Testing a Twisted Theory”, for their Covid-19 series.
May 16, 2020:
Spillwords Press featured my interview in their Spotlight on Writers series. You can read it here.
June 23, 2020: (estimated release date)
My short story, “The White Lady of Bachelor’s Grove” was accepted to feature in Black Hare Press’ anthology, “Sloth”, third in their Seven Sins series.
June 30, 2020: (estimated released date)
Five of my flash fiction stories will feature in Black Hare Press’ “Ancients” anthology. My stories are, “A Drop Dead Winner”, “The Fourth Matsabi”, “Life Must Be Heavy”, “Bad Blood” and “The Thirteenth Skull”. These acceptances took place over two months.
Real-life has interfered with my ability to continue with the Seven Sins series. I missed the deadline for Envy, and Greed is about to expire soon. Not only has real-life interfered, but, I began a murder/ghost story for another call whose word limit was only 3,000. My story’s first draft was nearly double that requirement and I liked it too much to whittle down, so, it is growing into a Novella.
My goals for the next six months are to work on my Novella when I need to take a break from writing my son’s memoir.
